In data de 3 mai vor incepe o campanie de strangere de fonduri: fiecare 2.500 de lei stransi înseamna un copil care aude. Cei doi muzicieni sustin un turneu în 10 orase din Romania pentru a sensibiliza opinia publica în legatura cu acest subiect.
Peste 30.000 de persoane cu deficiente de auz sunt înregistrate în prezent la Asociatia Nationala a Surzilor, dar, în realitate, numarul acestora este mai mare. Multi dintre ei provin din medii sociale defavorizate si nu sunt în evidenta medicilor. Copiii cu deficiente de auz au nevoie de protezare optima ca sa poata întelege cuvintele si sa distinga sunetele. O proteza performanta costa între 2.000 si 10.000 de lei, dar statul compenseaza doar valoarea minima a unui astfel de produs: subventia este între 900 si 1.400 de lei, în functie de diagnostic. Ca sa primeasca acesti bani, parintii trebuie sa depuna foarte multe acte si sa aiba rabdare – procesul poate dura cateva luni bune. Odata ce au obtinut aceasta subventie, proteza nu poate fi schimbata timp de 5 ani, chiar daca se defecteaza înainte de aceasta perioada.
Copiii care se nasc cu deficiente de auz în Romania se nasc condamnati. Daca familiile lor nu îsi permit sa suporte costurile necesare protezarii optime, ei nu vor auzi niciodata muzica, vocile celor dragi sau alte sunete din jur. Viata lor va continua sa curga într-o liniste deplina. Dar cu 2.500 de lei, destinul acestor copii s-ar putea modifica fundamental.
